Chinese New Year Part 1: Meet the Wongs (location: batu gajah (perak). there's no gajah or batu gajah there. plenty of batu though) i'm finally back from the land of appalling public toilets and immense heat. enough to melt su and remould her into a coke can. urgh. i must say my complexion improved ever since coming back to singapore from msia. it was terrible there. i assume due to the heat. anyway i took many many pictures! like MANY! because for the first time in more than 10 yrs, all the wong siblings were back. every single one. all 7 of them. you get the idea! reunion dinner was a pretty big affair one table was not enough the kids were ousted to another table in the living room. meet the jiejiewong and the korkorwongs it's a tradition (when i say tradition i mean it. everyone around here is so traditional i think andrewwong could have gone crazy. culture shock since it's his first time visiting his in-laws) to visit the temple on the first day of cny. so while they were bai-ing shen, i got busy taking pictures outside behind us is this really old stage where the whole kampung would gather to watch wayang. my parents did when they were kids. we played firecrackers too :) because my grand-dad's bday was around that time, we would normally have dinner on the second day. this dodgy cantonese-bday-song video was playing....can u see that the people in wayang costumes are wearing SUNNIES. goodness gracious me. the wong cousins and their respective partners. everysingleoneofthem is attached. except you-know-who we play mahjong all the time. so many times that i thought it boring to take any pictures. but when it comes to 3am in the morning...no one really wants to think and we go back to good ol' blackjack. part two real soon.
